Membership and Training

Membership is important in Scouting because if there were no members there would be no Scouts or Scouters.  There are several ways to become members of the BSA and the Texas Trails Council and to continue membership.

Just being a member is only part of what you can do for your unit and Scouting.  Being a training leader is very important to the success of a Boy Scout unit!  The council is continually offering training opportunities to you.  There are several mandatory training events that you must complete to be able to go on outings and campouts as well as be a member of your unit.  There are other optional training opportunities that, while not mandatory, are good to have just in case you would like to participate in some of the high adventure activities.

Part of membership is individual advancement for the boys.  We have the capability to renew our charters on line and input the Scouts advancement directly into the Scoutnet system, almost bypassing filling out the advancement report and having the Scout office input the information.
